AboutHe started out as a simple southern boy who grew up in a Christian home, but he never found himself to be curious about the faith. He grew up with what he would define as "Default Christianity", meaning that he would just label himself as a Christian, even though he continued to live whatever life he wanted. He only went to church because his friends did and he would only stick around for food, games and socializing without understanding the real benefits of church. By the age of 18, he would accept Jesus Christ into his heart on March 27, 2013. Since then, he's been deep into his studies. He is currently a Southern Baptist who holds to Reformed Theology.

TestimonyChristian Anarchist: "As a young southern boy who grew up in the South, you'd think I was raised in a religious home. Well you'd be right. Besides the smell of catfish, the thrills of hunting and the adrenaline of NASCAR, I was in an environment where bibles were in every household I went to and churches were usually every five miles down the road. I went to several throughout my life, but church for me was just a gathering place of people. I mainly stayed to play with friends during the service or eat the food they had to offer after the service. I eventually got to the point where I didn't believe in going to church or reading the bible and figured just identifying as a Christian was all I really needed. At this point, I was a teenager who went to middle school and struggled through a change in my environment where foul and vulgar language slowly progressed to high school to be common for me to communicate and lust was my most dominating sin. While seeking for something to fit into, I had heard of Christianity in it's purest forms occasionally, but didn't like the ideas and eventually dabbled with occasional ideas mixed with Christian themes and almost even entertained the idea of being an atheist. I'd been to Vacation Bible Schools, but nobody managed to make the Gospel the main key issue. Bible verses were scattered around the walls with nobody explaining it to us. By my senior year of High School, I was 18 and it was Easter time. We were eating our family cooked lunch and decided to watch the marathon that the History channel was playing for "The Bible" miniseries. I was curious about something during this. Perhaps it was Divine Providence that led me to ask this question to my PawPaw (step-grandpa). I asked him 'What does Easter mean for Christians? Why do we celebrate it?' He responded with these words: 'It is the day that Jesus Christ resurrected from the grave, after dying for us.'
This moved me and it caused me to continue eating in silence. I thought about what he said and after lunch, I went to my room and I felt weird, still trying to ponder on those words. I eventually felt what I could only describe as a chilling yet eventual warm sensation that caused me to tear up without control. I only teared up like this twice in my life and I felt no sorrow, but merely had tears crawl down my face almost like a gentle waterfall in a fish pond. It then stopped after a couple seconds and I decided after the thinking, I would devote my life to Christ and I would finish watching that miniseries which helped me be more informed and led me to my Christian Faith. Since that day, I have been growing more in the faith and I always thank God for everything he has done for me since that day on March 27, 2013." |
